Barça vs. Aston Villa: Match Preview

An opportunity for the hosts to return to victory in Europe

After a thrilling end of October, things are not getting easier for the Blaugrana machine starting November. FC Barcelona are looking to winning consecutive matches again after crushing Alavés last Saturday (6-1), when hosting Aston Villa at Spotify Camp Nou on Matchday 4 of the UEFA Champions League's League Phase, on Tuesday at 9 p.m. (CET).

The English team is going through an irregular season so far, being in the 9th position in the Premier League with 12/27 points. The visitors' latest result is a 1-1 draw at home against Fulham, days after getting knocked out of the EFL Cup's round of 16 by Bournemouth away (3-0).

Nevertheless, it is worth mentioning their perfect start in the Champions League after 3 games, which keeps them with more points (9) than the Culers (6) at the moment. Besides, their last win, just before last week, was against Manchester City, when they were still leaders of the league with a perfect winning streak, at Villa Park (2-1).

Speaking of leaders, LaLiga's best team continues struggling with injuries among defenders, although Frenkie de Jong as a centre-back and the youngster Brian Fariñas as a right full-back did not let Hansi Flick down when he lined them up for the last game. While the defense is adapting to the current situation, the midfielders are working at full gas, and the strikers do not lose sharpness when looking at the goal.

This clash against last season's UEFA Europa League's champions, coached by an experienced manager and the most successful one in that competition, Unai Emery, will be an important test for the Culers, who need the 3 points in order to getting closer to secure their spot among the best 8 teams of the table after their last defeat a couple of weeks ago. Will they roar louder than The Lions?
